1. About Lawyer The Lawyer
Lawyer The Lawyer (“LTL,” “LTL Group, LLC”) is a personal brand, media, educational, entertainment, and lifestyle platform.
Content may address law, legal careers, law school, professional development, current events, culture, business, food, barbecue, bourbon, tequila, golf, travel, entertainment, personal experiences, and other subjects.
The fact that the creator of Lawyer The Lawyer is an attorney does not convert every statement, article, video, podcast, social-media post, course, discussion, or communication into legal advice.
2. Not a Law Firm Website
LawyerTheLawyer.com is not the website of a law firm.
Lawyer The Lawyer and L.A. LAW, LLC are distinct brands and functions.
L.A. LAW, LLC is a law firm. Lawyer The Lawyer is a personal/media/educational brand.
A link or referral from LawyerTheLawyer.com to L.A. LAW does not itself establish an attorney-client relationship.
3. No Legal Advice
Information available through LawyerTheLawyer.com is provided for general informational, educational, commentary, and entertainment purposes.
Nothing on the website constitutes individualized legal advice.
Legal information may become outdated, may vary by jurisdiction, and may not apply to a particular person’s facts or circumstances.
You should not act or refrain from acting concerning a legal matter solely because of information obtained from LawyerTheLawyer.com.
4. No Attorney-Client Relationship
Your use of this website does not create an attorney-client relationship.
An attorney-client relationship is not created merely because you:
- visit the website;
- watch a video;
- listen to a podcast;
- purchase a course;
- subscribe to a newsletter;
- participate in a community;
- submit a comment;
- send a message;
- follow Lawyer The Lawyer on social media; or
- communicate with the creator of Lawyer The Lawyer.
Legal representation by L.A. LAW, LLC or any attorney requires a separate agreement and acceptance of representation.
Until representation has expressly been accepted, you should not assume that an attorney represents you.
5. Do Not Send Confidential Legal Information
Do not send confidential, privileged, sensitive, or time-critical legal information through LawyerTheLawyer.com, public comments, community forums, or social-media accounts.
Sending information through these channels does not necessarily create confidentiality, privilege, or an attorney-client relationship.
If you are seeking legal representation, use the designated legal-intake process provided by the applicable law firm.
6. Educational Courses and Programs
Lawyer The Lawyer may offer educational courses or programs concerning law school, legal careers, paralegal education, professional development, or related topics.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- courses are educational rather than accredited degree programs;
- participation does not guarantee employment, admission to law school, academic success, licensure, certification, income, career advancement, or any particular outcome;
- completion does not make a participant an attorney or authorize the practice of law;
- course information should not be treated as individualized legal advice; and
- professional licensing and educational requirements vary by jurisdiction and institution.
Any certificate issued by Lawyer The Lawyer represents only the completion of the particular Lawyer The Lawyer program identified on the certificate unless expressly stated otherwise.
7. Lifestyle and Alcohol Content
Content discussing barbecue, food, bourbon, tequila, cocktails, restaurants, golf, travel, or other lifestyle topics reflects personal commentary and experiences unless otherwise indicated.
Alcohol-related content is intended only for persons of lawful drinking age.
Drink responsibly. Do not drink and drive or engage in unlawful or unsafe alcohol consumption.
Nothing on the website constitutes medical, nutritional, addiction-treatment, or health advice.
8. Opinions
Unless expressly identified otherwise, opinions expressed on LawyerTheLawyer.com are the personal opinions of the speaker or author.
Commentary concerning products, companies, public events, legal developments, restaurants, beverages, golf courses, entertainment, or other subjects should be understood as commentary rather than a representation of objective fact where context indicates an opinion.
9. Sponsored Content and Affiliate Relationships
Lawyer The Lawyer may receive compensation, complimentary products, complimentary services, travel, experiences, discounts, commissions, affiliate compensation, or other benefits from third parties.
Material relationships will be disclosed where required.
Sponsored relationships do not change the obligation to provide honest opinions concerning products or experiences.
10. User Accounts
Certain features may require creation of an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity occurring through your account.
You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
11. Community Rules
Users participating in communities, comments, or other interactive areas must act respectfully and lawfully.
Users may not:
- threaten, harass, stalk, or abuse others;
- impersonate another person;
- post unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, or infringing material;
- post another person’s private information without authorization;
- upload malware or malicious code;
- spam or solicit users without authorization;
- request or provide individualized legal representation through public community discussions;
- post confidential client information;
- post medical records, Social Security numbers, financial-account numbers, or similar sensitive information;
- falsely claim professional credentials;
- use the community to establish unauthorized attorney-client relationships; or
- interfere with the operation or security of the website.
We may moderate, edit, restrict, suspend, or remove content or accounts when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms or protect the community.
12. User Content
You retain ownership of original content you submit to the website.
By posting content in areas designed for publication or community interaction, you grant Lawyer The Lawyer a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, format, and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate and promote the applicable website or community feature.
You represent that you have the right to submit the content you post.
13. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the website and its original content—including branding, logos, graphics, photographs, video, audio, written materials, course materials, designs, and other content—are owned by or licensed to Lawyer The Lawyer or its applicable owner and are protected by intellectual-property laws.
No ownership rights are transferred merely because content is accessible through the website.
Content may not be reproduced, distributed, sold, republished, commercially exploited, or used to create derivative products except as permitted by law or with written authorization.
14. Purchases and Refunds
Prices and availability may change.
Any additional terms displayed at the time of purchase, including applicable refund, cancellation, subscription, shipping, or access terms, become part of these Terms.
Refund eligibility will be determined under the refund policy applicable to the particular product or service and applicable law.
15. Third-Party Links
LawyerTheLawyer.com may contain links to third-party websites or services.
Those links are provided for convenience or informational purposes. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, products, services, availability, content, security, or privacy practices.
16. No Guaranteed Results
No statement, testimonial, story, example, case discussion, course, career discussion, or other content on LawyerTheLawyer.com guarantees any particular legal, educational, professional, financial, business, or personal outcome.
Past results do not guarantee future results.
Every legal matter depends upon its own facts, circumstances, applicable law, decision-makers, and other factors.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not warrant that the website will always be available, error-free, secure, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lawyer The Lawyer and its owners, affiliates, service providers, and contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to use of the website.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that applicable law prohibits us from limiting.
19. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lawyer The Lawyer and its applicable owners and affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your unlawful use of the website, your violation of these Terms, or content you submit in violation of another person’s rights.
20. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to website features when reasonably necessary because of violations of these Terms, security concerns, fraud, abuse, unlawful activity, or conduct threatening other users or the website.
21. Changes
We may modify the website and these Terms periodically.
The “Last Updated” date indicates the latest revision.
Continued use after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.
22. Governing Law
Except where applicable law requires otherwise, these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
23. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain effective to the maximum extent permitted by law.
24. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with policies and transaction-specific terms expressly incorporated into them, constitute the agreement governing use of LawyerTheLawyer.com.
